Question: Does homeowner's insurance cover sewer line replacement?
Top Answer (70% of 10 votes): In some cases.

Answer: In some cases
Explanation: This is another question for your insurance agent. Some policies will cover for the digging but not the actual repair. In most cases the digging is 3/4 of the total price. I have had good luck with insurances covering to tunnel under the home to replace broken down sewer lines. The homeowner still had to pay for the piping but not the tunneling saving thousands.

Answer: Never
Explanation: Homeowner's insurance cover the cost of repairing the damage caused by a sewer backup but not the repair or replacement of the sewer line. That is my experience anyway. I have had several customer put a claim for the replacement of the line. They were always denied.
